Listening to the waves crashing against the shore reminded me how much I have grown. I remember the first time we visited the ocean, I felt so small, so unsure, and unable to navigate the vast blue water. As breathtaking as the ocean was, it was a reminder of how easily I could become lost.
So many years later, who knows how many; when I came back to the shore I felt stronger, grounded in my relationship with God, confident, and knew I now have the skills and the support system to navigate the vast blue waters.
I came back as a wife, and a mother of three. This time the ocean served as a reminder of all the opportunity that surrounds each and everyone of us. Watching my children dance through the waves, feel the sand move beneath their feet, and frolic along the shore collecting shells; I saw all the opportunities they have before them. I saw all the opportunities I still have before me. I was reminded, I need to believe in the person I want to be.
